Hypnosis
What is Hypnosis?
The actual experience of being hypnotized is difficult to describe, neither awake nor asleep.
All hypnotic states are characterised by a tremendously pleasant state of relaxation, an altered state of consciousness into which individuals allow themselves to enter, so that desired beneficial suggestions may be given directly to the subconscious mind.
Thus, hypnosis is a natural effective way of making contact with the inner (subconscious) self, a source of many problems but also a tremendous reservoir of potential strength and knowledge - or forgotten assets.
Hypnosis is a state of deep and pleasant relaxation, much like daydreaming and is used as a tool in therapy when positive suggestions are more readily accepted.
It offers a natural treatment for many conditions which arise from the stresses of modern living.
It is important to note that no-one can be hypnotised against their will. Hypnosis is essentially a voluntary state so far as the client is concerned and requires the whole-hearted co-operation of the client.
Frequently, clients arrive for therapy with the mistaken belief that they will be unconscious or "asleep".
At the end of the session, they frequently express the feeling they were not hypnotised, claiming "I heard every word...". Although relaxed, clients are in a state of high focus and awareness, and will hear every word: it is, of course, important for this to be so if suggestions are to be effect! Hypnotherapy in its clinical use, is quite simply the most powerful device for personal development and positive change.
Why? Because it utilises the most powerful part of our creative potential - our imagination.
Hypnotherapy is the use of hypnosis for the beneficial treatment of the patient.
During hypnosis different techniques are employed depending on the goal of the patient.
In 1955 the British Medical Association endorsed the use of hypnosis in medical school education and since then it has become a valuable addition to conventional medical treatment.
In hypnotherapy you are in control of what you say and do through out.
It is completely safe and natural and there are no harmful side effects.
When administered by a professionally trained and skilled Hypnotherapist the benefits are fast, long lasting and often permanent.
It is often successful where other more conventional methods have failed.
